 District Overview (per Sec. 32-1-104.5(3)(a)(X), C.R.S.)

Green Tree Metropolitan District Nos. 1 and 2 are local governments that provide certain public improvements and services for the community in and around the Districts’ boundaries.

Public Improvements and Services

The Districts are authorized by the Special District Act and their Consolidated Service Plan to provide various public improvements and services, including, but not limited to, public road, drainage, transportation, landscape, and safety improvements.

Maximum Debt Authorization

The Districts are authorized by their Consolidated Service Plan to issue a maximum of $60,000,000 in debt.

Authorized Sources for Debt Repayment

The Districts are authorized to repay their debt from any and all legally available revenues of the District, including but not limited to, ad valorem taxes, fees, penalties, rates, or charges, as described in the Consolidated Service Plan.

Maximum Mill Levy for Debt Repayment

The Districts’ are authorized to levy up to 50 mills for repayment of debt.

Board Member Qualifications

The Districts hold regular elections for board members on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in May of each odd-numbered year. A person is qualified to be a candidate if they are a registered to vote under the Colorado Uniform Election Code of 1992 and are either (1) a resident of the District(s), or (2) the owner (or spouse or civil union partner of an owner) of taxable real or personal property within the District(s).  People interested in a position on the Districts’ Board of Directors may contact the Districts’ legal counsel for further information:
